Think my starter selonoid went out on me yesterday. I have yet to bypass the 2 poles to see if ski will turn over but I did put new starter and battery is good.all i get is a clicking sound from the rear ebox.does anyone know of an alternative selonoid I could use? I remember reading a forum user taking a riding mower selonoid and it worked I just need something to get me thru the weekend I'm suppose to be goin to the lake today and goin without the ski wouldn't be as much fun

I've got an older Craftsman tractor with a 16hp Kohler engine, prob. about a 1999 that's got a solenoid that looks just like the one in the SeaDoo. I'm not sure how much amperage it will take, but it should work, as the batteries and even the starter are about the same size.

Might get you through the weekend, also a solenoid from an older outboard should also work.

just go to the local auto parts store, they have generic solenoids for like $10 that will work fine.

but remember, "There's nothing more permanent than something temporary"

I'm jumping the post but I'm not getting any crank on the old solenoid and I have a battery charger hooked up just to make sure the battery is good any clue as to why it's not turning over?

Well I found sonethn else bad turns out the new starter isn't working I went ahead and pulled it out and connected it directly it just makes a humming sound and the old starter the bendix just spins both ways on the rod it rides on so it won't spin the flywheel when it engages
