My 96 gsx runs great and starts right up when I take it off the trailer. But after running awhile and shutting it off its hard to start back up. It will start but dies when you give it throttle. You have to feather the throttle or a little not full choke, but once it does get running it runs great until you shut it off. If you try to start it right back up its fine but if it sits for a few minutes or longer the problem is back. It has the 787/800 engine and the fuel lines were replaced about 2 years ago and the carbs gone through.

Fuel supply? ... It sounds like your fuel is running back into your tank. If the check valves are weak, not holding like they should, the fuel will gravity flow back into the tank, like a siphon. You said you went through the carbs; did you do pressure tests?

The carbs were gone thru, but did you replace the needles and seats? Its almost always the issue if it starts hard when warm.

Im not sure if it was pressure checked or if the needle and seats were replaced. I did not do the work it was done at a shop recommended by my local club. It ran fine and no problems until just the last couple times taking it out. And when it is runninig it runs great, its just the starting after its run. How hard are these things to do or are they thing a shop needs to do? Thanks

Its not tough, just tedious. You really should have a pop off tester though.

There are tons of good guys down your way...I'm sure they advertise on CL.
