I started this in a similar thread started by someone else but I decided to keep it less confusing I'd start my own thread.

96 XP 787, beeps and cranks, but no spark. I believe the coil ohms out ok (i'm getting .6 across both spayed connectors.

I'm looking at the trigger wire too. With the pos. lead on the white wire and ground on the battery ground, I get - volts when I switch and put pos. lead on the pos. term of battery I get +volts. I get 22volts when key is put on and they slowly drop off.

I just took a test light to the ground bolt on the coil and to a plug on the head and both are grounded.

Is it looking like the Stator?

You shouldn't be hooking power across any of the coils... even if it's with a pick light.

On the 800 engine... start by removing the MAG cover. Chances are, the pulse coil broke from it's mount.

I checked the ohms across the two spade connectors on the coil, no power. I only used the test like to check the coil ground and block grounds (clipped to pos. on battery and touching metal base on plug).

I am getting 24 volt when the key is put on then it slowly drops off. It does not appear to spike (pulse) when cranking but I didn't not crank it over for that long.

I winterized the ski last fall it ran fine. I just went to prep it for use and no spark to get it started. When I get a change I will pull the MAG cover and check that out. Right now we have the 97gtx and 08RXT to use.
