Ok so as some of you may know i bought a 95 XP800 in Kentucky saving it from the pallet racks its been sitting on for the last 16 years.

Here she is

Here is it home finally!

So yesterday the stripping began. Bad new is the motor is shot! Which is fine because its a junk SBT engine. Ill be putting a bombardier engine back in it with all oem parts

All stripped inside ready to be cleaned up and flipped to work on the bottom

Here is the bottom before and after photos

Before:

After:

Next Ill be fixing the couple chips around the gate and the front.

:( $400

Just ordered a Rossier pipe from Matt and the carbs will be going to Nick this week for a rebuild and jet

Also ordered the replica decals and some turf today

Good news is I have a oem motor thats never been open out of a GSX with 86 hours on it. Had 162 psi when pulled last year so I'm gonna check everything over and stick that bad boy in. All in all project including ski price shouldn't go over 1k and will be like new minus some scratched here and their which is very very minimal. Might of paid a bit much but iv wanted on for years

You didn't pay too much. I'd buy as many of those at $400 as I could.

I jetted the Rossier pipe at 125 in the midpipe(under the 1/2" fitting) and 175 in the stinger.

About time you posted it here. I saw those pics on Instagram days ago, LOL.

Looking good! I dont think ill even be able to touch mine until winter comes back around.

I was really hoping that seat was just dirty from the CL pics.

The stuff in the trash are junk! Its a welded SBT crank and case

Flywheel is heavily rusted to thats gone to I have many sitting around

Cylinders are off to Full Bore today to get .25mm over should have them back in 10-15 days

What did you use on the bottom, the pink part (rhodamine red is the factory name)

Meguires ultra cut with a high speed rotary and wool pad then hit it with megrims d300 correction compound using a griots da and meguires microfiber pad, took the haze out with finishing wax then sealed it with 3 layers of jet seal

Hmm. There are some recent threads about Full Bore being backed up. Hopefully the turn around time will be quicker for just a set of jugs.

1.00mm over? I guess you gave up on using OEM parts?

I talked to Dan today and was told it would be 10 days for the bore.

Im gonna do .25 over since the x motor which was most likely in this had .25 over factory. Currently I have a motor with 160 on each cylinder but no point in not going through the whole thing if everything is stripped.

I think the confusion is that 1 over is 1.0mm

I believe the 95 was stock .25 over (.25mm). 1mm over doesnt give you much for future rebuilds without resleeving. No idea why sbt goes 1.0 on everything.

Probably to more automate their production.

Well its been a while but I am finally back on this ski. Few things have changed so here is the update. About a month or so ago i picked up two Rossier modified 96 xp's which were done by Rossier Engineering themselves in the early 2000's. One ran perfect and the one that has the most modification didnt even crank. So I pulled the motor which was fully rebuilt by them is 2002 and stripped It down. The crank was extremely clean and found the cylinders to be very rusted. Not sure why they were rusted but the crank looked new and you could tell they rebuilt it. The outer mag bearing felt a little chatter so i replaced it with a WSM bearing. I had standard cylinders at the house so i sent them off to full bore and they did a .25 over and i opted for the Pro-X pistons. As for the rest of the mods here they are, Milled head, ported case (Very slightly modified by the intake, Rossier wet pipe with the pump system and MSD controller, rev limiter, Skat-Trak 17-22 (Installed OEM wear ring), Intake filters, and carbs that were jetted by Rossier (I did a cleaning on them but they were very clean) Here is the engine bay before I tore it apart and the receipt I got with it when I bought it.

Yesterday I got the motor all together and prepped it for paint. I also dropped the enhaust off at the blaster so that i could have a fresh start with it.

On to paint!

Done!

Here's the pump and impeller

Also got a newer style handle bar pad and got it to mint condition. Some may not like it but oh well.

Good looking work there. No I'm not a fan of that handlebar pad on that particular ski but you have the right to set your ride up the way you want it. I'm guessing you used the counter balancer from the Rossier engine, right? The gear count on the 95's are different.

Used everything from the Rossier ski

If anyone has a hold on the front bombardier badge or oem seat cover pm me please!!

That pipe paint looks awesome. Great job all around. You really need the yellow rubber handlebar pad. I have a guy that restores them, you can ship it to him, check my 95 thread, it looks mint.
