hey guys new here but i just got a 1995 xp from a friend, it has been sitting for about 6 years now. i took it home put a new battery in it, drained out the old gas and oil, put fresh gas and oil back in, replaced the spark plugs and she started right up. is there anything i should do to it like replacing the oil injection pump iv herd that can be a problem. any info would be appreciated.

also would anyone know what size and how much fuel line i would need to replace it all? want to get the old grey ones out. damn ethanol these days.

Replace the lines like you said- think its 1/4 line. I would rebuild the carbs as well. The oil pump should be fine but replace the 2 small oil feeder lines going from the pump to the carbs.

1/4 automotive line works great. I typically just get a 25' roll from Amazon or any auto parts store. You'll use 19' or 20', but good to have extra incase you cut one line short.

Impressed that it fired right up for you.. Congrats..

Besides the lines, the fuel selector needs replaced or cleaned as well as the carbs opened up, cleaned out, including the jets needles and seats, and the internal filters.

With a new one, honestly for the $20 it's not worth messing with them.

Replace the oil filter, replace the 3/32" tygon RV oil lines now then every two years. 6 years the oil may be coagulated, so replace that, replace the jet pump oil. Read our "How-to" section.

BRP mineral oil if engine is a 720 (717) motor
BRP XPS synthetic if you have the rave valves 787 motor
