So far i have one engine that will start right up, but smokes a bit... my driver side just wont start i charged my batteries, hooked up a jumper pack to it, it clicks like its ready to try and start but it just wont. does it seem like a battery problem? or a starter problem, when i have the plugs and wires off i get it to almost turn over like the thing will keep trying to start but with low compression, but once those plugs are in, it just turn over at all... any ideas? starter problem? bad ground?

First off check the ground- wire from the Battery going to the engine by the starter. It also might look ok but be corroded internally. Check both ends to be clean and have a good connection. I try to have the ground- as close to the starter as possible for least resistance. If the battery has a full charge it still might be bad if it has a bad cell or 2 and not have the amps to turn over the engine under compression. You can have it checked for FREE at like Auto Zone to be sure it is good.
Let us know how you make out.

How long have You owned the boat?

Is it new to You?
Have You had it running before?
Have You checked the jet pump? My pumps were torn up and the previous
Owner thought it was the Engines. Do they turn by hand?
Good luck!

Have the battery checked( LOAD TESTED) if in doubt...It's cheap insurance to keep you from getting stranded on the water.
