95 SPI gauge and buzzer questions

So I got the ski running and now I'm trying to figure the rest of the gremlins out.

When I first started the ski up I remember hearing a beep or buzzer for a second. After starting the doo up over 10 times I've not heard the buzzer since the first start. Also the gas gauge does not work and I'm assuming it's the magnet but don't want to take the baffle out if I don't have to.

My question is what should I hear or see when starting up my doo? When should my gas gauge work, when the key is engaged or after the ski has started?

I also took the fuel gauge out and noticed some rattling in it and noticed that it was not even plugged in. I plugged it back in to see it the gauge would work but got nothing.

Any suggestions?

The baffles have a fusible link in the circuit board that can go bad. The float can go bad as well. Check it with a multimeter, the resistance is something like 80-240 ohms (dont quote me but that's the ballpark). Check your tank level, if its about half, then 160 ohms is its reading good and you have a harness problem. Open circuit means the fusible link is gone, and 240 means the float has sunk.

I don't believe you have DESS so you shouldn't hear anything unless its overheating.

I thought I read that the earlier doo's don't have that circuit in the baffle? It's likely a magnet issue if the gauge does not work.

Okay so the buzzer will only sound if it's overheating?
