Im bought a spi with all electronics, Now the motor part. Im not racing it or anything like that, i am using it to teach my 5 yo daughter how to drive them. Also using it on the river behind my house. I was wondering what year motors will fit? and is a 580 the same as a 587 with the wiring?

95 Seadoo SPI motor ?

All white 580 motors will work with those electronics, before 95 they had wiring direct from the stator to the ebox. 95 and after they have the 4 pin grey plug.
I think you can cut and splice if you wanted to...or swap the 95 stator in.
Also...I just learned that before 95 580s use a different exhaust manifold so you will need to swap that too. the place the pipe bolts into is moved a 1/4" from the pre 95 ones.
