Hi there I posted this problem a few weeks ago and didn't get a response. So here again I have a 95 Sea Doo Bombadier SPX. It has sat in a basement for 15 years and finally got it out and it ran great last summer until the last outing the start/stop switch starting going intermittent. It would start sometimes then pressing the start/stop switch to stop it wouldn't work. So we put it up as winter came and it sat again for a year and a half. So I got it out a month ago from storage and it would not start at all. The VTS would work but not the start/stop switch. So we cleaned the connectors and used a hot wire to bypass the start/stop switch and it finally started up. It ran great then the VTS didn't work. I ran it in the water with no mechanical problems. I tried to cut it off using the start/stop switch and it wouldn't cut off and had to use the kill switch. So its something electrical as the fuel gauge quit working last time we had it out then the start/stop switch started not working right. Now its very intermittent that we would get stranded if we took it out. I took the electrical box out and now I don't know where to start so if anyone can help that would be great. Thanks

The start/stop switch itself can be bad. Many have failed. Once thing to check is the ground wires. There have been several that have had many start/stop issues and found the problem to be a ground issue. In most cases it is a small ground wire, not one of the larger battery grounds..

Most fuel gauges fail due to a defective float. Seadoo has updated floats and magnets to replace the old style that fail all the time.

Yea I looked at the kill switch and it looked fine. Though when it does start the start/stop switch will not cut it off only the kill switch will cut it off. We start it sometimes with the relay jumping the start/stop switch but it won't work but intermittently. Has to be deeper than the kill switch.

I doubt the Fuel Gauge has anything to do with the start/stop switch. I have 4 seadoos and the Fuel Gauge dosen't work on any of them. I just fill them up before I drop them in the lake.
The VTS can be looked at by making sure you are getting power to the VTS motor. It should be located in a Black Box in the rear of the ski and Marked VTS. That will tell you if you need to look at the Switch or Motor.
I would check the connections on the Start/Stop switch and if all looked good i would just replace it.

I think its deeper power source due to its intermittent supply of power to the on/off switch, VTS, and fuel gauge. This thing has probably only 30 hours on the water in its lifetime. The start/stop switch will work but then the VTS will not work. When the Start/stop switch doesn't work the VTS will work. So it has to be something else. I checked all wires and there are no bare wires to ground out.
