95 GTX siphon bailer o-ring failures

I have a 95 GTX that is taking on water due to failed o-rings at the joint between the impeller housing and the discharge nozzle in the siphon bailing system. I have replaced these o-rings with new o-rings from my dealer at least twice now, per the shop manual procedure, but they continue to fail. I am at a loss. Basically what is happening is the bottom half of both o-rings are getting sucked into the passage ways and are torn in half. The only advice I get from the dealer is to replace the o-rings. Any advice would be appreciated.

"O" Rings

I had a similar problem, this solution may not be according to the manual but it worked for me.

I work at a car dealership, I took the original O rings and got the next size larger (thicker). I used a small amount of silicone seal to hold them in place. Just use a little bit, I used a toothpick to apply the sealer. Bolted it back together.

You can also run a wire through the assembly to make sure its not clogged, I use #10 solid, leave the plastic sheathing on the wire, you can also run this through the tubing.

Lou, thanks. We were planning on changing to a Viton o-ring and super glueing it in place. Will look at uping the size as well. Just can't understand why it's happening. Was really expecting someone to tell me I need to replace the rear black plastic nozzel where the o-rings are located.

looking into the nozzle assy, i see only 1-bailer white tube. You need both, so the system is working in reverse effect. Replace the missing one, and no mo problems.
