94 speedster

Hello Everyone,
I just pick up a 94 speedster for a grand, the hull and the interior looks like new.
But! Both engines need top ends. I just order two kits for 350 bucks. Anyone have some advice?
Could someone tell me the HP of the 657x and what makes it different from the 657?
Also looking for a 94 manual.

I believe they are 80HP

The 94 was the only year they used one intake for the 2 jets I believe, not the best way. Most switch from the 2 small batteries to 1 standard battery. Check out jetboating.net for more info

657 = 70hp
657x = 80hp

657x has a 1mm higher deck height and a stronger crankshaft.Top ends are common on the 657 because of the lower deck height the top piston ring has a greater chance of heating up to a point where it glows and can cause early detonation. You don't have to worry about its not a super serious flaw, just make sure oil and cooling system are maintained.
