4 motor mount replacement;
Can anyone tell me if there is anything special that needs to be done besides putting the shims back in where they came from ?Any kind of alignment ?Does the shaft self align?What if the clearance to the slip ring doesn't look quite right. (don't know yet just asking ahead of time)
Thanks for any comments

Self align?...

No...shafts do not self align. The idea of taking the mounts loose, marking the position of where the shims are, allows the engine to be placed where is was before it came out. If you remove the pump and engine, then you have to align. You have a 95% chance of the engine being o.k. if you put it right back where it was, with the shims in their exact place........

then that is probably the case(not aligned). I was careful to put shims back but the pump shaft etc all came out and the motor was rotated on it'd side to get at the mounts.Have cavitation now as well. So It means the impeller is probably not straight in the slip ring or something else is not quite correct.The shaft seals and bearings were replaced as well.What is involved in getting this aligned properly.Loosen all the bolts and shake the motor and the use a feeler gauge to see if the impeller is centered ? Just searching here for a thought.
Any suggestions welcome
Thanks

re-straten the motor, and with the bolts NOT tightened into the mounts, bump the start/stop button, few times. Worked for me.
