Seadoo won't run in water

you can hook water to it , it runs fine put it in water it wont start.
i had shop rebuilt the twin carbs, they put it in water same problem.
i broke down engine found front bearing started to go bad, replaced it
redid top end of engine. installed all new gaskets :hurray: it starts rite up
I took it to water and the same thing! will not run in water .
"HELP" does any one know why it dont run under pressure

If it has low compression it will react this way. Check the compression and get back to us. The extra load on the seadoo in the water would do exactly that with low compression.

The part of the ignition system under the flywheel that sends electricity to the coil can be weak from what I have read and when in the water the engine may not spinn fast enough to send a good spark to spark plugs this may not be your problem so good luck. Robin

Obviously the solution is to just run it out of water all the time then!

First try what the guys above suggested (supply voltage and compression).

If not, try starting it on the trailer just before the pump hits the water, once the idle smooths out back in the rest of the way and then see what happens once its in the water.

One view that usually helps me is:

'The problem is usually electrical, as in poor or no spark, or fuel, as in too lean, or rich. Unless of course, the problem is mechanical, as in a bad cylinder, or broken internal parts, leaky crankcase, or loose bearings.

Once you think in those terms, it becomes easier to diagnose!
