Hello...new to forum...working on a 1997-GTX. Need to replace starter, stator & pick-up. Are there any special tools/procedures needed to pull/replace stator? Is there a specific position or does it just bolt back on? And any other tips? I purchased it used and someone had the front cover off & getting water in & ruining starter. Thought I would replace all the electrics. Also getting a 12-volt low..already replaced recitifier....thanks

The stator... no... just bolt it in. The pick-up... yes... that sets the engine timing. You will want to check the timing after replacing the pick-up.

How involved is checking/adjusting the timing? Does it take special tools? I do have FSM about 3-hours away with the boat.
