Ive been reading around and if i remember correctly i remember Mr.Bill saying that some filters with different jetting to accommodate adds a nice little increase to these motors. I'm just wondering what are the options as far as Filters and jetting goes?
Thanks in advance

They sell a "Jet Kit" there at WCM. Chris will send you the right ones for your situation.

As a general rule I would up the low speed jets a size and crack the high speed needles slightly after adding aftermarket flame arresters to an otherwise stock boat.

ProK seems to be the best choice. The only problem with like a big Westcoast or K&N one-piece is that you can't get to the darn tuning screws. You loose protection from water ingestion with the axing of the OEM airbox though big time. It's worth it to get the Outer Wears

Looks ill be going ProK .. the thing i see on Ebay is that they have the filters and they have the ProK "Lok" adapters. so im guessing you have to get the lok adapter to mount the filter? They also have "multilok".

also i LOTS of R&D flame arrestors. I know that the difference in "flow" between the two might be minimal. But would you have to get the adapters or do you just need the filters? I really dont care about the brand, just want easy adjustability.

i started with the r&d, then after a half day of carb tuning, and fighting with the dam r&d, i immediately purchased proks from ziegler, his prices were fair enough, he ships fast, and he had the adapters and outers in stock. http://www.watcon.com/
have you done any additional mods ?
reason I ask is that I didn't notice a significant improvement when just adding flame arrestors to my 02 xpl. however, on my 787 when I added them along with other mods (Spec 1, ECWI) I noticed an improvement. so by themselves, AM FA's didn't do a heck of a lot for me except the ease to tuning.

The R&D cone filters are sweet; the pro-loks. They dont need a clamp but hold fine.

I agree, anything that has hardware sux. You can have a cone off in 3sec....a set of Ocean pros takes like 10mins.
