It all started at Christmas when I buried the motors on my '97 Speedster to the plugs in water. I got all the water out of the cylinders, siphoned the water and gas out of the tank, put in new gas and replaced the plugs and voila!........runs like a champ ! It was pretty cold here , so about once a week I would start everybody up and let 'em run for about 30 seconds just to make sure they stayed happy.......so far, so good. About 2 weeks ago they quit running. If I choke and turn it over over about 10 seconds they will both fire up with gusto, run 3 seconds and quit. They will do this repeatedly, but refuse to fun for any length of time.

Yes, there is gas in the tank, but it is 4 months old. Can it go bad that quick? Plugs are clean. It acts like it is not getting any gas. Is there a dead fuel pump here? I have shot carb cleaner down the throats, but it did not make any difference. I am out of ideas. What should I try next?

Thanks, Nathan Mayo

Was the boat ran for an extended period of time after removing all the water??.. Or just started up?
Wondering if you have water within the fuel lines that wasn't purged.

You got the water out of the tank but you didn't get it out of the fuel lines.
I think if you just keep on choking and run then choke and run and You get the idea. You will clear the lines.
When you've killed the battery, take the time and charge it, Never jump start from a running auto. It will kill the Brain.
Good luck!
