hello all,
I looking for some advice on finding a replacement pipe for my 96 spx. I have been having a hard time finding a replacement so I have what might be a dumb question to you guys... the stock pipe that came off my ski has large rectangular holes for the cooling system, whereas every 720 pipe i find for replacement has much smaller circular holes. Will that be a problem? (i will put some pics up tomorrow to better show what I am describing)
And now for the super newb question, will a 657 pipe work?
thanks for any help I can get!

Look for a casting number on the tuned pipe 274000301 or 274000302. Wire out the fitting connctions
and tap a screw driver into the center of the four "freeze plug" to check for rotting and Tig weld if they
are.

Do you have leaking freeze plugs? You can get them repaired by a local welder.

If you need a pipe I have many for sale.

Well can I use the newer style pipe to replace it? what similar year exhaust are interchangeable with this pipe?

I know the pipe is beat! thats why Im looking for a replacement.... here's the real question, what is the difference in the 650, 657 and 720 head pipe? I know the casting number for my year is 274000301 and 274000302, but I can not find a used pipe with those numbers...What I can find is part number 274000094. The pipes look the same, but have different numbers. Are these pipes interchangeable?

I have a used 274000301 tuned pipe it has a pinhole leak. I could weld and sell $85 + 15 shipped to
your door, lmk.

The numbers mean nothing...seadoo changed part numbers all the time.

The only difference between all the pipes from 580-720 was the location where the pipe bolts onto the side of the manifold. The non tuned pipes hole is 1/4" off from where the tuned one mounts.

some of the 657x and 720s had the pipe that split like the 787, and that one is just a clearance issue on some hulls. All the mounting points are the same.
