Hi everyone and thanks for letting me join this great website!
I recently picked up a pair of 1969 Sea-doos to restore and I'm sure I'll be looking for some help, advice, parts, etc. to bring these beauties back to life and on the water again for all to enjoy. Thanks again, Dave

The the first year (1968) Sea Doo produced by Bombardier with a model name of the 320. It came equipped with an 18 horsepower single cylinder Rotax air cooled engine operating a Berkeley Jet Drive water pump. This was the same engine used within their popular snowmobile named the Ski Doo Olympique. Drive belt slippage within the Sea Doo occurred when wet, creating an updated incorporation of the cogged drive and belt. She was underpowered and was quite difficult to keep the engine cooled and properly vented. The 1969 model (372) underwent numerous design changes including a twin cylindered water cooled engine, however it was plagued with numerous design problems, one of which was proper venting of gas fumes. A number of these PWC caught fire which eventually had Bombardier ceasing production and calling for all unsold models to eventually be destroyed. These models are quite difficult to find today.

Thanks for all the info. and yes they are 1969, one is all original and real nice shape, the other one is decent but the engine needs work and I was thinking it would be nice to take a drivetrain from a later model (fuel injected) and install it into a 69, didn't know if anyone had info as to what may be the best fit ? they are in stowage at this time and I will get pics. soon, Dave

As far as fuel injection goes there are only two the 787 RFI and the DI 951, I am thinking either would be too much headache and HP for that hull.

maybe converting it into like a 587? should be pretty low horsepower, but enough in that thing

They are a great piece of history. Not the greatest machine to ride, but I give respect to anyone willing to keep a piece of history alive. If I had more inside space I'd prob own a few.

Parts?? Non existant. Id be looking for a parts machine. I do have a set of NOS pistons, bought them for art/convo piece.
