1996 Sea doo XP motor shakes but won’t rev up

Another problem I’m having is one side of my ignition coil is giving good spark. If I switch the wires the good spark stays with the good side. I don’t have no spark in the bad side but the spark is weak. Does any body have any ideas what this could be. Both the plugs are good and plug wires are good, boots are also good as well.

The thing actually runs pretty good but would like to get it running as perfect as I can. Seems a little sluggish. Both the carbs are good and compression on both cylinders have 140 psi compression.

If I unplug the red wire on the voltage regulator it still doesn’t have good spark on the one side of the ignition coil.

It is a wasted spark ignition so both spark at the same time.
If one is weak and you have verified it isn't the wires or cap then it is a bad coil.

I did try 2 different ignition coils. Both have the same result. Maybe they both could be bad, I bought one used off eBay and the guy said it was good but that could be a lie. I do want to verify, the ski should run on either cylinder if I unplug one of the spark plugs right? Out of water. Right now it runs on the one but the other one it doesn’t.

If they were aftermarket coils they could be bad. One member last week went through three new aftermarket ones and none worked. He got a used OEM and it ran perfectly.

I did use an Oem used coil but at having the same result. It could be a coil with the same problem but it said it was good on the ad.

The bad side is still getting spark it’s just miss firing a lot and the ski doesn’t have as much power as it should. It’s not a smooth idle and its acceleration is pretty slow but it’s decent. I just really wish I could get this thing running right. Sea doos always tend to have complicated problems. Maybe I should get a Yamaha next time lol. Thank you for all of your help if anyone can think of something different for me to test I’m open to advice.

I would rebuild the carbs just to make sure that's not a load up/flooding issue. When disassembling, make sure you have the right carb jets and needle seat for that engine.
