657x stator confusion

I have a 94 speedster with the 657x twin engines. Both engines have the 5 wire stator. I somehow locked up one of the engines. This engine is now out of the boat and the crankshaft is locked up solid. I have a good 95 657x engine to drop in out of a 95 gtx. It has the 4 wire stator.

Am I correct to pull the 5 wire stator and flywheel and use on the new engine? Every thread on this just ends with more questions than a specific answer.

To recap:
94 657x from boat 5 wire stator.
95 657x from gtx 4 wire stator.

Swap 5 wire stator and flywheel to 95 657x= joy?

I am sure that is the correct thing to do. But one of the other mods may have a better answer as they have all pretty much done all there is to do with a 2-stroke...

Yes you must use the stator and flywheel from the 94 for it to work. There is a little line in the case near the upper left bolt hole for the stator that you will line up with the mark on the stator.

Ok. Thanks. Now hopefully this confusion will be put to rest. From all the posts I have read, it makes sense. I will also check the timing from the manual.
