After some research on sites, seems like somewhat of a common flaw. Sea doo bit the bullet on low, low hr units with this problem and replaced motors. Mine, unfortunately had a whopping 105 hrs on it, so I'm screwed. Not too happy! They should allow a bit more clearances so when they let go, the internals aren't destroyed. Oh well, I'm not qualified with my talent to have parts machined and rebuilt to put back together.... Wish I could find someone in the St. Louis, mo area who would like to take this on!
