2013 Wake 155 Dead after de-winterization

Hello,

I was de-winterizing my 2013 Wake 155 yesterday and when I connected the battery cables up, I noticed a small spark. Now I get no display or beeps when I put the key in. I know the battery is good and fully charged. I checked all of the fuses in the fuse box next to the battery and they are all good. I've looked high and low and cannot find any other fuses or circuit breakers to check. Any ideas where I can start to troubleshoot this?

Thanks,
Glenn

Jump the solenoid. If it cranks, then you know the battery, cables, connections, and the starter are good. If it doesn't crank, then get the battery load tested.

Have you checked the fuses?

Thanks for the reply CoastieJoe. Jumping the solenoid does crank the engine. All fuses in fuse box are good.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Glenn

There is a wire that I thought ran from the solenoid and fed the MPEM. But take a good look around the battery for a wire that you missed. Pretty sure most of the newer skis only had the one large wire on each terminal, but certainly worth a look.

There is only 1 wire per battery terminal that I can see. The only other wire is one that terminates into a rectangular resistor.

How do I verify that the MPEM is getting power?

There are two 30 amp fuses in separate holders by the starter solenoid, the fuse holders are know to corrode and cause issues.

I don't see any other fuse holders anywhere near the solenoid other than the main fuse box. Is it possible these are in a different location on a 2013?

Thanks,
Glenn

The main 30 fuse is not near the solenoid on the iBR models with the battery up front, it is on the left side of the of battery kind of on the side. If you see the diagnostic connector, follow that back and you'll see the main fuse in a separate holder.

If I follow the diagnostic connector back to the left side of the battery (if facing forward), I see 5 wires (3 yellow into one connector and 1 black an 1 red into another connector) connected into what looks like a big heat sink I don't see anything that looks like a fuse or fuse holder. Am I in the wrong place?

Thanks,
Glenn

I think they moved that 30A fuse to the fuse panel, check your 30A relay in the corner of the fuse panel. You can remove and test with a 12v source.

You are correct. I broke down and bought a wiring schematic for the 2013 models. The only fuses are in the fuse box. Relay tested good but wasn't getting powered from the ECM. I found the problem was a loose/bad connection in one of the connectors that feeds the display and handlebar controls. Thanks to everyone for their help.

Glenn
