2011 GTI Cruise button replacement

The cruise button on my 2011 GTI has gone bad, I am guessing from sunscreen or bug spray. I need to replace the button.
The button is no longer available from Seadoo and I can't find the black button on the internet, so I got a red stop start button, which will work.
I would like to change the color though to black to avoid any confusion. Any thoughts on how to paint or color it?

Just buy a dark gray one which is what all the newer ones use.

Pretty sure the original color was grey.
