Bought a ski, unable to test ride because of the rona lockin down the ramps. I know i broke the dont buy without a test ride rule, but i got it cheap enough to be worth the risk. And i compression tested it and got about 130 in all three cylinders.
So when i got it home, i pulled the battery, put it on the charger, wash and waxed. Put battery back in, started the ski and flushed the motor. Noticed that it was slow to build revs. Not the instant throttle response i was expecting.
It was a from auction ski, and i was told its been sitting a while. Its from north carolina so its prob at the least been sitting since end of last summer. So im going to start adding stabil to the 1/2 tank of fuel its got and topping off with fresh rec90. Then new plugs for the hell of it.
Anyone else got any ideas on what could cause it to be slow to build revs? Seems more sluggish at lower rpms as well.

You need to be in sport mode for quick throttle response. It defaults to touring mode every time you start it which is pretty doggy as far as throttle response.

Hmmm, idk man. It is VERY slow.
Gotta look up the manual and figure out how to get into sport mode lol this is all new to me.

start it, put in F by pressing throttle, press and hold sport, wait a second, press sport again. dash will now show sport mode.

give it try, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised

can't remember but that year might be the lower enter button below mode on the the right side. you can start it on the trailer and do a quick test without putting it on the hose, just only let it run for 15 seconds or so.

Downloaded and printed the manual.
Lets hope that really is why its so slow to rev.
Finding out tmoro on the water, wish me luck!
