2010 GTI 130 no beeps/ start

I have been searching for a week and finding other posts about the subject, but none like mine.

I hope I can get some answers.

Last Saturday out riding. We have two identical skis. 2010 gti 130's. We were out riding for about 15 minutes. Stopped to chat and after that putting the key in my wife's ski, the heads-up display comes on no beeps won't start.

Since they are identical, I swapped key post, mpem, starter solenoid, and every fuse and relay. One at a time, testing in my ski, and it started every time. Putting back in hers, I get the same thing, Hud, no beep, no start. I jumpered the starter solenoid and it just clicks (after swapping from mine to hers).

Could the starter be bad and causing it to do this?

Any ideas? Please help get us back on the water! Thanks!

Pull the plugs, can you turn it over by hand? You may have a seized pump bearing.

Where can I turn it over by hand? Just turn output shaft?

I have also swapped the Gauge clusters....still nothing.

No, a seized engine will not stop the Beeper from working.. And it does sound like you have a voltage issue or a connection issue..

The one thing I don't see is anything about the battery. Swap them and see what happens...

Swapped batteries first thing....still nothing.

Ok,, then maybe the beep simply went bad.. We need to know if the engine will turn over.

If the starter "just clicks" if you jump the solenoid, then you have a low voltage issue and or the motor can't crank due to being seized or the pump (impeller) bearing are seized.

So,, we need to determine if the engine is seized, the pump bearings are seized, or the starter is stuck engaged.
Tap on the starter with a Ball Peen hammer, sometimes this will unstick the bendix if it is stuck.

Pull the spark plugs as this will decrease the pressure required to spin the motor. If the starter isn't stuck, you can grab the driveshaft with channel locks and see if you can turn it over. If not, you will have to pull the pump.. Once pulled, see if the pump is seized. And then try to spin or crank the engine.

The beep is behind the gauge cluster right? I swapped then, and it beeped in my other one, so that's out. I will crank it by hand after dinner.

Everything is coming back to a voltage issue,,

I am betting you have a bad cable or connection. It just has to be based on what you have swapped from a known good ski.

It could still be seized,,, but I would take a VERY good look at all the main wire connections. Remove, clean, reinstall with dielectric grease..

Took wiring harness off and checked all connections.....that did nothing.

Pulled plugs......rotated engine, tapped in starter......same.

If you KNOW you have a good battery and KNOW you have good clean cables, then you have a bad starter. But I would pull every battery cable, wiggle the ends to see if they make any noise or white powder comes out of them before replacing the starter.

If it were me, I'd use my car and hook jumper cables up directly to to the output of the solenoid and then the ground to the block.

If it cranks, bad cables or connections.

Well....swapped batteries.... it didn't even power up the other ski..... turns out bad battery. F me.....thought we had swapped those first day (was with a buddy who was riding ski when it died)....shit. I had no idea that it could have just went bad anyway.....and it was the newer battery.... 5/14/15 in service. Damn. Sorry for wasting your time Joe! Thanks for the help!

That is why I capabilities specific things. Like, if you KNOW your battery is good,,,,

Can't guess, to hard to diagnosed things when that happens.
