2008 rxpx starts with out key

Went to go out this morning and realizd my ski will start without the key. This is not good because it also will only kill with the button, not the key and lanyard. Any suggestions. Also after I pulled the key off and shut it down with the button The dash and gauges didnt go away. a few minutes after that it started a series of 4 beeps until i disconected the battery.

Any help would be appriciated

Bad DSS post perhaps? That's where I'd start at any rate, replace the DSS post (where you plug the key in at). Sounds like it's shorted out inside.

Is that unussual for such a new sea doo....... my 02 has had plenty of probs. but none with the DESS

I have no idea if it's unusual or not, but that's what it sounds like to me. That's where I'd start at any rate. If the DSS thinks there's a key plugged on even when there's not, what else could it possibly be?

Hey an idea just occurred to me.... go out and take your battery ground cable loose and leave it off the battery overnight (so all the electronics will reset). Then put it back on and see if it will still start WITHOUT the key. Let us know what happens.

Unplug the dess post and see if the problem goes away.
