Hello,
ive recently brought a 2008 rxpx, ran it out about 4 times since, all fine. Then the last time i took it out, weather was fairly rough. after about an hour of riding the engine became lumpy and running very rough, wouldnt accelerate past bout 4000 rpm.
Got home, flushed out, cleaned. still running lumpy. ive changed the oil and plugs all sparking fine. No codes or lights on the start and only two short beeps and fuel pump then starts, any idea why it running so rough?

Thanks

Thats a really low RPM at WOT, even for a SC failure, check to see if you have any debris in the intake/pump, other than that, pray your sc didnt go out on you and throw chunks into your engine. The only other thing i could think of would be that you were using the learning key, but you said that it happened mid run, so thats not it.

hi,
actually took appart yeserday, all hoses needed a clean so done so and put back together, the steel box under ther engine cowling was blocked full of a white grease, flushed it out with an air compressor, put back together and wouldnt fire up. Took out plugs AGAIN!! and warmed with blow torch, put back in and fired as normal, still running a bit lumpy tho, dont wanna put it in water and cause more damage, wot u think??

as far as wet goes, are you talking in the water, or hooked up to a hose? under load in the water sounds completely different that on a hose(i generally dont take mine above 5k on the hose when i am flushing it, and when i do hit the higher revs on the hose, it doesnt sound pretty lol) i know its a crappy way to test it, but try holding a constant RPM(if you feel safe, and you think your engine can hold it) on the water. Check what your speeds are holding 5k rpm for 30seconds to a min, and 7k rpm. Also listen/feel for sputters, engine dogging, ect. Its a tough thing to ask, but its the only way i know to diagnose your problems, aside from taking your machine to a dealership/shop and having the pro's check for you. How many total hours are on it, did you buy it new or used, and what warranty, if any is left on it?

wen i test it by hose, i only blip the throttle, brought the ski with 34 hsr on it, currently has 40 hrs on it, since the prod clearedbs ive changed oil and taken off hoses, air intake and cleaned. do u no what the white cream was in the (looks like an air filter) at the rear of the engine. think it may just be the plugs are shot. do u no what gauge they should be?

cheers for help

Start simple. Swap out the plugs. It seemed to make a difference when you messed with them.
