2006 rxp starting problems

Before I start i just got done reading the old post about the 95 gxt that had a rebuilt motor with the starting issues.. I have almost the same issue. I put the key on, hit the start button and it clicks , i try several times and once out of about 40 or so it will start, but if I don't hold it and miss that one chance I have to keep on pressing the start button till it comes around again. What does this sound like to you guys?
I bought the skies new they both have roughly 24 hrs on them. Thanks in advance.. Will

Does anyone have any advice? If I take the starter off I can hook up test leads and test it in a vice or is there another way?
If it is the starter, is there any other place to buy besides the dealer?

You could just connect to a ground and a positive wore on the floor or the vice. Be carefully not to over tighten the starter. You could try a starter and alternator rebuild company for a replacement. Mine in town rebuilds them for less than $50.00. Check in the yellow pages in you neighborhood, or a local NAPA auto parts store.
