Problem: lose battery cable at the relay.
I am so frustrated. I am a motorhead and work on engines both gas and diesel but damned if I can figure out what the heck holds the battery cables to the relay located on the side of the electronics board. I have looked at these connections with a mirror and flashlight. I have tried every mm socket I have. These "nuts" don't even look like nuts. Meaning, I cannot see any shoulders on them when looking at them with a mirror. The stud is threaded however.

Question: what the heck nut, screw, bolt, whatever, holds the battery cables on the relay located on the left side of the electrical board in front of the engine left side. I need the size and what type of tool is required, ie., socket, allen, etc.

My pride simply will not let me pull this thing off the lift, put it a trailer and take to the dealer to simply tighten these cables.

I totally understand your frustration. Believe it or not what you are trying to tighten is a 10mm nut (meaning you need a 10mm socket). The red rubber insulator has shrunk around the nut and that's why your socket won't come in contact with the nut. I have taken a cheap 1/4 in. drive 10mm socket and ground down the leading edge into kinda of a cone shape. With some effort I can push it inside of the insulator and finally make contact with the nut.
If that doesn't work then cut away the insulator with a razor blade ..... sometimes the damn thing leaves you no choice.
WARNING: disconnect the battery before working on the solenoid. It's real easy to short your tools out against the exhaust manifold.
Good Luck, DAWG

Yes,10mm it is.I just looked in my tool box and that is the size that is missing out of my tools.I droped it under the engine and can't find it any more. Are there any rotating parts that can come in contact with the loose socket under the engine?

You'll be OK. Look at the rear of the engine from time to time after you ride . It will probably end up there sooner or later.
