2006 GTI SE: Any thorough overview of internal components available?

As I have read through many posts on this forum, I have found that there is very little that I know about the internals of my PWC. There are lots of hoses and diverters in such a small space that it is hard to view and understand. I consider myself fairly mechanical when set on the right path, so would appreciate if anyone could point me to an overview of what makes the PWC tick/run. I have seen certain terms pop up, but most have an inferred knowledge of what they mean. Examples: OFAS, Carbon Ring, wear ring, impeller mushroom (a funny vision ), etc, etc etc.

I have the owner's manual and the shop manual, but can anyone recommend some newbie reading material that would give me a good overview so that I can start checking things out on my own?

For the Engine there is a Engine SHOP manual.


I highly recommend looking up ACEA oil ratings. What you though you knew about oil and greases.
