On my 2005 Sportster Le DI, I want to attach a Ram Mount 2.5" round plate with machine screws to this spacer on the dash. When looking inside the hood, I can't see what's behind this spacer without doing some disassembly. The Ram mount is going to attach to 6" Ram Socket arm (to raise my phone over the steering wheel) to hold my Samsung Galaxy Note Plus, so this RAM mount needs to be securely mounted. Does anyone know how thick/sturdy the material is behind this plate? I've pretty much finalized the location for this ball mount, but I'm open to suggestions on using another brand's ball mount.
