I addressed the porpoise issue on my 2008 Challenger 180 with this part that I have for sale. It is a ride plate extension that angles down very slightly, effectively helping to keep the nose down over waves while also reducing the boat's time to plane and ability to stay on plane. It made a noticeable improvement, but I removed it. Why? Because we ended up spending most of our time on a smooth lake, plus we eventually installed Cobra Steering Fins so my girlfriend could steer it more easily at the dock - you can only run one or the other. It does not interfere with reverse. I sold the boat and have this lying around.

The plate itself is made of 3/16" thick T6 aluminum - it might be indestructible! The hardware is stainless steel. Everything you need to mount it is included. There is a hole in the plate for an anode (not included) and the screw for this is included. All you have to do is remove the two bottom bolts that hold the pump venturi on, and mount the plate up.

You will notice in the one pic that the plate has a cushion on it where it makes contact with the boat. This does two things: 1) reduces aeration and turbulence at the joint; 2) protects the boat's ride plate. However, you will have to remove the plate to access the coolant drain hole on the ride plate.
