2005 SeaDoo RXT Storage Compartment (near seating area, below steering handle)

Hi All!

I own a 2005 SeaDoo RXT 4-TEC SC and I was looking at a 2006 SeaDoo GTX Limited. The 2006 GTX has a cover for one of it's storage compartments that is molded for a GARMIN GPS.

Can I switch-out my front storage compartment cover on my 2005 RXT with that of the 2006 GTX Limited to install a Garmin GPS?

Yup

Yes you can. However it can be a challenge to remove only the lid without damaging the plastic hinge. You should be able to find the whole glove box assembly on line - try Parker Yamaha. It is a very simple install, less than a couple minutes. I did the same thing on my '08 RXT-X. Make sure when you order you get the same color because it is available in both grey and black colors. I recommend buying the glovebox and lid as a unit and selling your old one on Ebay. Do it ... it looks slick, cool factory looking upgrade, especially if you already own the Garmin. Awesome brother! Thanks for all the information and attached pics. I'm going to go with your recommondation and switch-out the compartment & lid. I'll just need to take a moment and see how to pop the thing out. Is it attached via screws, clips? Uninstall done from the interior, exterior or both of the ski? I'll take a look at an assembly drawing too.

By the way, could you share the recommended GARMIN model that fits the mold as needed? Have you ever had it pop-out of place during riding?
