I Have a 2005 RXT 215, which runs fine we have checked the impeller and wear ring, which are now fine, and replaced the SC washers with steel, it pulls off fine cruises nicely, but when you "give it the rest" it shoots off up to 6500rpm, and no further, load = 1/2/3 persons does not affect it,is there a rev limiter issue perhaps?

any input will be greatly appreciated!

Not sure I'm following you... the engine RPM's shoot up to 6500rpm, but it does not actually increase mph? Or, does it accellerate (mph) up to 6500rpm's and then max's out and won't go any faster (rpm's or mph)?

If the engine rpm's max out at 6500rpm then either there is a supercharger problem or the throttle cable isn't correctly adjusted, IMHO. I cannot see the rev limiter kicking in at that low rpm. How's the hole-shot (from dead stop, how fast does it plane when given sudden throttle?)? Can you hear the SC running?

Finally, though you replaced the SC washers with upgraded steel washers, just for grins take the air intake hose off the SC and reach in with your fingertips and try to turn the air impeller... it should be almost impossible to turn (but with alot of fingertip force you should be able to move it). If you can move it by fingertip fairly easily then something's wrong there! There are other things that can go wrong in the SC besides just the clutch washers.... the nut may not be torqued down to the correct ft/lbs or may be working it's way loose if you didn't clean the threads well and red-loctite it! It's possible you may have put the spring washers back in wrong, the orientation of all parts on that SC shaft are IMPORTANT! These are just things off the top of my head....

Hi Michael,

Thanks, it did spin, so we re-torqued it, and tightened the throttle cable, goes great now.
Leaps out of the water straight up to 7800 rpm, clocking 100kph, on GPS,(62mph)great.
Thanks again, JIM,
