Bought an 05 RXT with 80 hrs on it. This is my first Jetski so I don't know much about them. I read lots of threads with ceramic washer issues so, of course, after spending $4k on the thing I want it to last.

First question: should I do SC rebuild or just the washers?
Second question: how to remove SC
Third question: does anyone have a full write up on how to remove and rebuild SC?

I work on sport bikes so I'm pretty handy with tools.

I've looked at posts here but haven't found one with actual instruction.

Any help is appreciated.

The superchargers spin up over 40,000 rpm. Although the work can be handled by a mechanic that has your kind of experience, I would still recommend a technical manual as a guide.

If this ski has 80 hours on it, there is a chance that the charger had already had the ceramic slip washers removed. The decay of the ceramic slip washers was perpetuated by the properties of the synthetic oil. When these skis first came out, they were designed to run on mineral oil. But, with the majority of Seadoo's running on Synth's or Synth blend, many supercharged skis ended up with it too. If you can determine the type of oil used, and has been used since new, you can determine whether or not, how important or how fast you need to remove them.

The forum has many articles on how to do things. But, the all these articles are what is easy to re-type in a paragraph. The procedure for removing and rebuilding the SC is a fairly detailed, spec specific procedure, that should be followed from beginning to end. You'll be measuring tolerances and setting torques, just to mention a couple.

If you look at the exploded view, you'll see the ceramic washers as parts number 12 and 13. Good luck!

i had mine done @ 82 hours $602.00
they said there was some special tools involved
I thought some one on here said the rebuild kit was $345.00
I thought hay if they do it and some thing comes apart
its covered

It probably costs about $400-$430 in parts/tools + time. I'd say you made out pretty well. It will be well worth it.

Well after taking out the blower I realized that it had already been fully rebuilt and has new washers on it. At least I know how to remove one now and you don't need a special tool at all.

Is your username related to an italian motorycycle manufacturer? Or just coincidence? LoL ...

i see they have torx heads--how do you get at the inner ones with a torx head box wrench?
