Quick SC reassembly question on the bearings. Which direction do the bearing face (cage has open side meaning I se the balls themselves, and a closed side in which the view is blocked) in terms of open side direction relative to the shaft? I’m pretty sure the outside bearing’s open side faces internally towards the shaft. It’s the inside bearing orientation I guess I’m questioning. The YT vids are a little vague or I’m not sure of the use of the term cage i.e. open or closed side.

First time owner of a pair of 07’s both of which are right at the 100 hour mark and I’m doing the rebuild myself. Not that difficult if you’re handy and have the right tools. Anyway, any info would be appreciated.

So I was going thru deleting pics from my iphone (daunting task sometimes as they stack up quick) and discovered I had actually snapped pics during disassembly back when.
Looking at these two pics particularly, the two bearings “open faces” (see the balls) were both facing in the same direction as in towards the engine side of the shaft with the slip washers, gear and spring washers…🤷🏻‍♂️
The two ‘07’s with the first being tackled to learn, are both at 99 and 101 hours respectively. I contacted the dealership down near Rockledge Florida who sold and serviced them for the lady who sold them to me (daughter knows her and turned me on to a couldn't refuse deal) provided me with all service information and had not rebuilt or worked on either of the the SC’s.

So is this the correct orientation? The diagram provided is not clear. I’m of the pursuasion to put it back the way I found it. Funny thing would be when the other is tackled it could be different…😜
