I'm going to move this to the 4-tec PWC section, I think you'll get better responses there. One question, how bad is the motor, does it have a rebuildable block?

Lou

The motor is still put together but looks like the supercharger went, I have only gotten pictures since the ski is far from me. So back to your question not 100% sure.

If you don't have what you would call "verifiable" information as to why the engine is blown, you must treat it almost as though there is no engine in it at all. You may have to pay for a core for example. The 05 had ceramic washers in the Super Charger. If you don't have evidence that it was rebuilt, (not just their word), then you must rebuild it. And, if the washers did fail, this could be why the engine is blown.

So we kind of need better info to help you better.

that's the think I don't have more info its an auction due to mechanical issues, the bid right now is 1300 plus about 500 in fees on top of the 9hr drive so I will pass on this one, those models are so expensive down here, a 2004 with 280 hrs for 3500 lol.

So, do you have a donor ski with the mechanicals to go into this hull? 4-tec's are a different animal than 2-storkes, if you have the parts to go into a good hull you might want to bid up to about $1500.00 for the ski and trailer that still puts it around $2000.00, it doesn't sound too bad to me, that's if you have a good motor.

It has everything by the pictures, the trailer looks new, the pictures look great it doesn't even like it was a salt ski, I would be looking at right at 2k after fees, ski and drive to texas.

I just picked up one for $1k without a trailer. Looks like I will be $3500 in engine repairs. Should just bought a running one for 4 to 5 k!

I would not touch that one. Given that it comes with a box of parts and it's been kicked around auction yards it's probably missing pieces. Also it doesn't say how many hours are on it, you might plug the key in and find out there's 800 hours, in which case the resale is almost nothing.

In short, assume the worst when contemplating how much to bid.
