Have a 2004 RXT that died on me a few weeks back, leaving me stranded in the middle of the river for the 1st time in 8 years. After tow-in, I got really busy (as did my mechanic) so we finally got around to diagnosis tonight... Does not look good - dropped an exhaust valve and now need to make a tought decison:
- Part out (seems time consuming and wife would not like "all those parts" around the garage...
- Sell As in - complete ski and trailer
- Install rebuilt motor... ( SBT or other recommendations?)
To complicate matters, ski is co-owned with my brother in law who has no mechanical skills, so we are likely going to pay for repairs ( vs DIY ) as I do not have the time in the next few months. ( and I bought a 2001 Challenger recently)
Ski is in good condition - a little fading on the seat and th usual 2004 scratches, approx 90 hours...
Any suppport on decison would be great. I estimate book value of SKI at 5000
