There is a 2004 rxp for sale near me. It has about 130 hours. owner said everything worked on it but he sucked up some water into the motor. He took it home tore the motor apart to check it all out and says there was no damage. Not sure how he got the water in there, flipped or towing it or however else. He's asking $1500 obo. I have a few buddies that are good with engines so I will take them with me to check it out.

What would be your top dollar on one of these?

thanks for any feedback

I wouldn't buy it unless I rode it and had it hit 8K+rpm.

If I couldn't do that...and still had to have it....$1000 w/trailer would be fair to me.

He said the charger was just rebuilt. Easy to check condition while it's already out. I would probably just have it done anyways though. Thanks.

You basically have a good hull and a bucket of bolts. If it was easy or had no damage he would have put it together. I would be maxed at $700 as you MUST assume you need an engine.

I'll be going through the engine with a lot of new parts if I purchase it. I have a feeling he thought it would be just as easy to out together as it was to take apart.

I got pics of the motor today and it looks pretty clean. No damage I can see. I'll be going with a buddy Friday morning hopefully to check it out. Found out it took on water in the hull due to exhaust hose leak. Supposedly wasn't sunk.

Always risky buying a box of parts, I agree with these guys, assume a new motor is needed, if it happens that everything is there and you can just bolt it back together then that's a bonus.

Let us know what happens.

As long as the block and head are usable I would be fine. I worked out a trade with him so I won't be in into it much as all.
