Hi, I just bought a 2003 gtx 185hp. The jetski reaches up to 53mph at 7000rpm ( I think it should reach up to 68mph). The supercharger is brand new, I bought it OEM from seadoo and installed it without problems. It had problems speeding up from dead stop and didn't have high end speed. I saw that the wear ring needs replacement and I tried to take things apart. It looks like I took everything apart from the outside and the pump is not moving at all. Is there anything inside I need to unhook? I need some help or direction. thank you, thank you, thank you.

here's a quick checklist

1. OPAS linkage
2. steering and reverse bucket linkage
3. Water hose on top of the pump.
4. 4 bolts holding the pump to the hull

If all those are done you should be able to wiggle the pump off the driveshaft.

yeah I did all of that.. it doesn't move at all. any connections inside the hull??? and what kind of a sealent do I need when I am ready to install it back together. Thank you

Nothing inside the hull. As far as I know there's no sealant required. I'm thinking maybe someone else was in there before you and "sealed" it together which is whats keeping you from removing it easily. Take some photos if you can so we can figure out what's hanging up.

There should be no sealant, there is a rubber ring around the pump that seals it to the hull when the 4 main bolts are tightened down... your pump is likely just stuck on. Take a rubber mallet and try bopping it side-to-side or up-n-down a little and see if it doesn't come loose. Did the washers come off with the 4 main bolt nuts? The nuts do have washers behind them and they can get stuck on the bolt threads also.

Your 185 hp PWC isn't going to make 68mph, the 215hp supercharged/intercooled models go 68-70mph max you don't have quite enough horsepower to hit 68. That said, your performance can likely be improved with a fresh wear ring... low 60's is what I'd expect it to max out at though. Every single mph takes several addtional ponies to achieve in general.
