2003 GTX 4tec - rpms?

i just bought a 2003 GTX 4tec..regular..not supercharged. has 27 hours on it. new battery..(didn't change spark plugs? should i?)

my question.how many rpm's should i go to when i gun it. At about 30 mph it's about 5000, but when i accelerate and go 40-45 it's at 8000 ...9,000.

Is this normal? Should i be concerned?

any thoughts...appreciated!

Read your shop manual on measureing the wear ring tolerence. Your ski may be cavitating.

Meaning..tha'ts ok? to be going 40/50 mph and be at 8000 rpms?
