I have an 02 GTX RFI 2 stroke, at one point I had to lift the engine out to replace a plate under the engine that cracked from improper winterization.
It drove okay for a while but eventually it started to act like it was in limp home mode, where it wouldn't go more than 10-15 mph. It would kick in and out the modes, its bad mode to its good mode like a switch, nothing in between, good or bad.
I did the regulator rectifier OEM replacement (which I now see was a mistake not getting the heavy duty one), its gonna be another week till I get the battery in it to test it, do you think replacing the regulator was the right move for my symptoms? I don't remember if it had a 12v low light on last season and I never got around to reading the volts.
Otherwise, my ski is 10 years old, and has 60 hours on it, it's the 2 stroke, fuel injected 787 motor, I owned it since new and never really have done any maintenance to it, I also can't seem to find my manual, if someone could give me a run down on some of the maintenance I should do to get it running good, that would be great!
