Hi and welcome to the Seadoo forum. First of all I would like to apologize for remarks in the other thread, but we have certain way of doing things and it just gets too confusing trying to help two guys in the same thread with different problems.

Now on to your problem, DI ski's are sweet running ski's when there running properly but when the have problems it can be a major head ache. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know a lot about them (never owned one). From what I have gleaned from this forum many times the problems are from low fuel pressure.

I would start by getting compression readings, compression is ideally 135psi and below 120psi is cause for concern. To take the compression remove both spark plugs, ground the plug leads, take on a cold engine, and usually with open throttle, but on a DI it probably doesn't make any difference.

Get the compression readings and post back I'm sure one of the guys familiar with these ski's will be able to help.

I'm with Lou on all aspects. Compression test will tell us a lot and fuel pressure is very critical with the DI skis.

Owners love them when running properly. Learn to hate them when they are not. Harder to diagnose and more expensive to repair.

Hey guys thanks for all of the advise I'm working on it today and is great and sunny down here in Florida :-) to start I'm on my way to the
Store to get a new set of reeds. I decided to remove the intake to inspect inside and I found the reeds located I the rear cylinder (rear of hull) completely damage
It almost look crush :-( so weird I have never seen anything like this I will post pics soon thanks

I wouldn't get too happy yet until you get some hours on it. The reason the reeds break like that is because someone sank it and filled the motor with water and then cranked it which means water sat in your motor for some amount of time which can rust a bearing and lead to failure. Only time will tell.

newbie here
is the 2002 GTX DI 951 the same motor as in the 2000 RX DI?i ask to know if my ski has reeds?my 2000 RX DI is acting up.drove to the sand bar with no problem then on the way back wouldn't go at all when I hit the throttle.

Do you have access to a bore scope? with the reed cages out, you will be able to see if there is rust on the crankshaft, its a little tight to see into the bearings, but rust on the crankshaft can be an indication of what the bearings have been exposed too as well. it would seem difficult to get all moisture out of a water ingested engine. I believe what gets rid of it is more engine temperature & evaporation, & thaw going to take a lot of hours of running.

On a side note, does anyone make a hydroscopic solution that could be passed throughout these water flooded engines? That would really be a great PWC first aid kit. If there's anything I have learned with the 951's is that the air intake system is somewhat ridiculous. its like a vacuum cleaner just waiting to suck in any water thats in the hull. I think that should have been designed a lot different.
