Hey guys.
So I was on the lake for about an hour And all of a sudden the merc 240 EFI quit. Like I deliberately turn it off. Tried to start again but nothing. A few times she would start but die after around 3-5 secs. It's like it gets enough gas to start but not enough to keep running.
Any help, would be greatly appreciated before I take it in for service.

First... don't take it anywhere. This time of the year... you will pay crazy amounts of $$$ for a half ass job.

It could be a bunch of things... what have you checked?

If it shut off quick, and didn't give you an alarm first... I would be looking at spark, and fuel. Make sure you have pressure at the regulator... and make sure you have spark on all 6 plugs.

Still need to check the spark. You may only have spark on a couple plugs... or it may be shutting down. We've seen a few bad key switches, and safety lanyards this year.
