I have just purchased a 2001 seadoo gtx di with 66 hours on it. I took it out to see how it would run inly to find out it only goes approx 40 mph according to the speedo...not sure how accurate that it... it seems the engine ran strong at approx 6750 rpm and didnt seem slugginh or bogged down. I would say the water conditions werent to bad maybe slightly choppy but not white caps or anything. I still was expecting higher speeds. Any tips or checks to look at? I plan on taking it back out and seeing if the results are the same... any insight would be great... thanks in advance.

You may have a excessive impeller clearance. Suggest you check that 1st. .008 is good........ .040 is very bad.

Also, where was your VTS set? Bow down equals slow, bow up equals porpoising. You want it just above center.

Thanks i will check that next... thats where i was headed haha...when looking up the jet i can see like almost peeled or shredded plastic around what seems to be an impeller or prop of some kind.

That is your destroyed impeller. Replace it with a QUALITY brand, not an eBay special.

Awesome...haha recommend any good brands? Looking for a little more performance and speed...they are relatively easy to replace, correct? I believe i need the whole housing as well...any seals or rings that should be replaced as well? Should i check the drive shaft?

Check out the HOW TO section for details on how to do the swap. I would use an OEM wear ring of what LouDoo uses, I don't recall the brand. He can tell you.
