so i bought the rx cause i got a good deal on it. it has 33 hours on it and is super clean, i knew it needed a wear ring( org. one was tore up) i test dove it wasnt snappy bc of the wear ring but it would rev out to 7100 no problem on the water.. out on it the other day, rode fine all day, started floating around with the ski off just bsin and when we went to take off the ski would rev out then drop down to 3500, let off and it would go back up to 7100 and fall so one and so forth.. soooo.. i get it home change the plugs, pull out the raves and c that the top keeper spring for the bellow(the one that looks like and o ring) was broken. i had extras from my challenger so i rebuilt that rave and cleaned the other one. NOW today i got my new wear ring and solas impeller in take it to the water and the thing wont go over 5800 rpm.. but it doesnt fall on its face any more... any idea??? its killing me...thanks

i called the tech support for solas.. they are telling me its bc i have the wrong impeller.. i have the concord 16/ 21 and i should have the 15/ 20 and its not allowing the engine to rev out its trying push to much water and its bogging id down... make scene?? there saying the first issue was because of the rave valve bellow being messed up..

With the impellar size 16/21. and it fits in the pump housing/wear ring.Is that correct?
Then a 15/20 would leave a huge impellar/wear ring gap.

Someone correct me if I am wrong please

Pitch has nothing to do with the diameter of the impeller. Since he has a 951 engine... he runs a 155mm pump.

Yes... more pitch will make more pressure in the pump... but one degree on the top, and bottom wouldn't drop your top RPM over 1000 RPM. (maybe 200)

So... it goes back up to SaberTooth. Compress/RAVES/Solinoid.

I'm betting it a combo of low compression, and sticking RAVE's.

The springs are prob not the same between the 800 and 951 motors....you'll want to get the right one in there.

the retainer springs are the same, its like a 2 in clamp to hold the bellow. anyway, i did the compression test. its an upsetting 93 in each cylinder exactly the same. so my question is what would cause that, there was nothing that out of the usual. i shut the ski off after a long ride and when i started back up it started acting like this.. also what would cause them to be exactly the same, that low?? head gasket?? do u really think it could need a top end at 33 hours??.. thanks

so i just wanna make sure before i tare this down.. with compression that low i def need a top end? is it easiest just to get the whole head exchange from sbt or is it ok just to get the top end rebuild kit??? thanks ..
