2001 RX DI engine options

Hello everyone. I just purchased a 2001 RX DI that needs a new engine. I can find if any 951 di fits or does it need to be from a 2001. Any help would be great. Trying to get it running before summer is here. Thanks for any help Dan

Any DI should work. You might have to swap electronics though. I am no DI expert. Also the DI is the most finicky engine they made so make sure you find what caused the failure and I wouldn't buy a used engine.
If you are looking to get back on the water fast with a warranty SBT is about your only option.

Thanks for the response. It looks like the water jackets are full of sand and they kept trying to run it

Sand is a killer. Limits cooling ability and creates hot spots. Quality flushing will prevent this in the future.
