2001 Islandia Exhaust

I have added a 90 degree elbow to my exhaust pipes to try and help with the exhaust noise. Does anyone know if this could cause to much restriction and damage the engine? Also what type or size spark plugs are best for a mercury 240 Hp engine?

The Mercury Service Manual states: NGK BPZ8HS-10 with 0.040 in (1.0 mm) Spark Plug Gap

There may be other recommendations from users.

Sorry, don't know the answers to your questions, but can you tell me if adding the 90's to the pipes helped out with the noise? What elbows did you use and how were they attached?

yes it seemed to help I used Stainless Steel 90's and welded them to my exhaust pipe.
