2001 GTX DI

Hey all. I just bought a 2001 GTX DI. 198 hours. Put in water for the first time yesterday, and after 500 yards or so, on plane at 30mph the Red warning light started flashing and the display read “Maint”. The ski went to idle and wouldn’t leave idle until I unplugged the key. Upon plugging back in the ski would run normal and then the same thing happened again. Any ideas? Thanks!

You are going to have to see what code it has stored. Either a dealer or buy the Candoo Pro scanner.

Most likely it’s your voltage regulator.

The two most common issues are the regulator and the fuel pump.

I bought an OEM regulator, because the after market ones don’t work after awhile. I also got a larger AGM battery. I bought a size 24 instead of a 16. I also unplug it when the ski is not in use. Better yet, put it on a battery maintainer if you can.

But, if you have any other problems, Mikidymac is correct on the CanDoo or B.U.D.S.
