Hey everyone!
Just picked up a 2001 GTX DI over the weekend. Ran fantastic for about 3 hours (104 hrs on the engine) and we started to have issues. Previous owner was not original, had it for two years and claimed to only add gas and oil. One of the first things I did was put some seafoam and add some fresh oil.
As of last night, I've now replaced the PTO spark plug 3 times in the past 1 hour of riding. It appears like too much oil is being injected or it's not getting enough fuel. Not sure which. Either way the plug is black as can be and kills the ski.
I'm about to leave for vacation for a week and am debating dropping the ski off so it's in line at the mechanic (2 weeks before anyone can look at it peak season) or trying to fix myself. I haven't had the pleasure of working on many ski's before and honestly probably don't have the time to boot.
By chance has anyone run into this before? Should I just take it in and suck it up?
Thanks guys!
